Willow-The Playlist

If you know anything about me, you know I love music as much as I love reading...and I often try and put the two together. So, I started thinking of songs (and listening intently to the radio) so I could come up with a Willow playlist.

Sadly, I only got four songs, but I really like all of them and believe they fit the book, for me anyway. What do you think though? If you've read the book, do they fit? If you haven't, do you like the songs and think they might work...based on my brief explanations? Share Share Share!

Crawling-Linkin Park: I believe this shows the feelings that Willow is going through after the death of her parents and when she starts cutting herself.

Hanging by a Moment-Lifehouse: For me, this describes Guy’s relationship with Willow. He’s so confused, but he can’t leave. As time goes on, he starts falling in love with her and then he really can’t turn away.

Pain-Three Days Grace: It’s kind of Willow’s thoughts concerning cutting and then Guy saying he just wants to help her.

Because you Live-Jesse McCartney: Willow is upset by her past and trying to shut everyone out, but once Guy enters her world, things begin to change. She sees the good in life and begins to feel again.

I haven't read the book yet but I like the four songs you have found. I think Linkin Park's song is the best because it is so full of pain and seems like it would fit really well. I like all your little summaries. They make me want to read the book really badly.

I haven't read the book yet either, even though it sounds amazing. I think that the songs that you chose do reflect "Wilow" and what she is struggling through. Great job, maybe you will find more songs to add!! I think that "Reach" (is that the one??) is a good song for this book even though I haven't read it.

Katie: Well, I'm glad they make you more interested in the novel, and thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed the songs. Crawling by Linkin Park was actually the first song I chose. I agree with you, it really does show the pain.

Polo.Pony: Thank you, I'm glad you think so! Who sings it? I'd be happy to go and listen...and yes, I'd love to find more songs that people think would fit the novel.

I agree with everyone else--I haven't read the book yet, but if these songs are giving me a feel for it then I'm excited!

My copy is *mocking* me for not having read it yet.

I do love crawling and have gotten a sense of that from what I've heard of the book.

I haven't read the book yet, but have seen some awesome reviews. By the song choices, it seems to reflect that Willow is obviously going through a lot, and trying to get past that one brink of having it all together agian. I suck at trying to explain things, but either way, awesome song choices!

Nora: Well, I'm glad they are helping you get more excited!! I really feel, at least for me, they resonate with the book.

Livinia: Definitely! And you. must. read. :P

Amber: It's a great book, and we'll be posting more reviews this week...so hopefully it'll be enough to persuade you to get a copy. haha But thanks, I think I understand what you mean, and it's true. Willow definitely has a lot to go through in this novel, and with the help and support of Guy, she is able to see things in a better light and move on a bit from her past.

I haven't read the book yet but I can see how they would fit based on your descriptions. I love that Lifehouse song too. I saw them in concert two years ago and they were AMAZING!

I haven't read it either but music is a powerful way to connect emotionally. These songs convey the feelings and desperation that Willow must be have. Great selection! I can't wait to read it and find out for myself.

Wrighty: Thanks, and I love to fit songs to books. It really does give a new way to relate to the story and enjoy the overall message. I'd love to know what you think after you read the book!

Surprisingly, I actually know all of these songs!

I am such a jerk, but I'm not sure I would buy a playlist with McCartney. I know, I should be flogged. Otherwise, good choices. :)

Yan: Oh, yay!

Aerin: haha Well, I'm glad you like most of them...and it's quite alright you don't like Jesse, not everyone will. I really think the song fits though. :)

Crawling is one of the four Linkin Park songs I like. Ahh that Chester is quite cute hehe I think it's hilarious that they call him Chester the molester hehe

Megan: Yay, I'm so glad, and I believe they fit very well but you'll have to read it and let me know what you think.
